"The EP titled "18" is basically about the past eighteen years of the my life, that's legit the whole last half of my life " says Leona. Some of the songs including "Blood" "Criminal" and "Infected" have a bit more depth, emotion and hurt than the first ep "Baby Steps". These songs came about during some monumental turning points in the artists life. Along with "Baby Steps" this ep was also produced, written and performed by Elena Leona and engineered by her partner of the last 12 years. "18" combines the artists first born original acoustic guitar songs and ability to play catchy rhythms over simple, self curated beats. Blending smokey vocals with a hip-hop backdrop and peppered with folky-reggae-rock guitar rhythms, really creates a sound all its own.
